At Peel Regional Headquarters inside the Chamber of Council, Liminality Web & Graphic Design Producer, Kai Min demonstrated the unveiling of Peel’s community website Connect2EndViolence.ca where Police Chief Mike Metcalf, Region chair Emil Kolb, OMNI News, CTV News and Brampton SUN were present. Connect2EndViolence is Peel’s initiation to combat crime within the city since experiencing record crime rates as of 2008. Connect2EndViolence, Co-chaired by Brampton Regional Councilor Gael Miles said, it was developed by a steering committee comprised of several community stakeholders and features discussion boards, surveys, and information on a range of subjects. The purpose of the site is to keep community members informed and give them an avenue to get involved in crime prevention.
